Hello Hoty, and thanks for your post,
I am sorry to hear that your hot flushes are continuing despite taking Clonidine.
Maggie's, the cancer charity, have some helpful tips on hot flushes and cancer for both men and women. As it says in the information it can help to keep a diary to see if there is a trigger that may be the cause of your flushes for example drinking a hot drink or eating spicy food or managing a stressful situation. It can help to record when these happen.
I am not sure if you have tried various measures such as wearing loose cotton clothing, having a fan near by or a window you can open. Trying to avoid caffeinated drinks and any alcohol can also help.
It may be helpful to get in touch with your GP to see if they can suggest further medication if you are still finding the flushes continue.
If you are taking a hormonal treatment this may have to be changed or adjusted if the flushes continue to have an effect on your day to day activities.
It is important that you drink enough fluid and you are eating a healthy diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables.
Do share this all with your GP as it can be difficult dealing with this on your own.
You may find it helpful to ring and speak to ne of the helpline nurses. The number to ring is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
All the best,
Catherine
