  • Hi there mayann and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about the chemo you have needed to have but it is good news to hear the tumour has shrunk.

It can be unnerving needing to have more treatment and many patients are worried about having a different treatment and how it may affect them. Unfortunately as with chemo it is difficult to know exactly how someone will be having radiotherapy.

There are 2 types of radiotherapy used for womb cancer ( external radiotherapy and internal, also known as brachytherapy). However because you say you have been told this will be given daily for 4 weeks I can only assume you are having external radiotherapy.

There is information on the about cancer web pages titled radiotherapy for womb cancer that has sections about this type of treatment, what happens when planning this treatment and possible side effects. Hopefully this will give you a little more understanding about what to expect.

I am sure the team involved in your care will tell you more soon and give you further information about your treatment.

Do get back if you have anything else to ask or if you prefer to speak over the phone we are here weekdays 9-5 on 0808 800 4040.

    Kind regards,

    Naomi
