  • Maybe just ask them. Its your treatment plan so they shouldn't refuse.

  • Hello and thanks for posting

I'm sorry to read about your situation and appreciate you wanting to explore immunotherapy as a possible treatment option for you.

Immunotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that helps the body's own immune system recognise and attack cancer cells. It can help some people with bowel cancer, but only a small group benefit from it. Whether it may be a suitable treatment for you depends on whether your cancer cells have specific genetic features or proteins.

It is only your specialist team who can say whether immunotherapy treatment may benefit you as they are familiar with all your medical details, so do discuss this with them.

In the meantime, we have information on immunotherapy treatment on our website that may be useful to you.

I hope this helps. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
