Sore boob

Hi there I am wondering if you can help me please. I went to my GP yesterday about my right breast being sore and a bump i found on the left side of my rifht breast. My breast has been very sore and the GP said its most likely hormonal ive asked for a second opinion as im absolutely terrified and would like to be referred to make sure im okay it can be all parts of my breast that is sore at different times just looking to see if this sounds like cancer at all thankyou. GP also said no tethering at all and slightly lumpy.

    Also I forgot to add i had an implant in a few months ago that was removed as I didnt have any periods i wanted my body back to normal then few months later I got the depo jag that ran out xmas day not sure if this can be hormonal at all

    Hi there Kat and thanks for posting

    I am sorry to hear about the breast pain you are experiencing and the bump you have noticed on your breast.

    As symptoms can be caused by so many different things there is no way of anyone here knowing what the cause of your symptoms are.

    However you have done the right thing by seeing your GP, they are very experienced at assessing things like this and I am sure they will refer you if they think necessary.

    Breast pain alone is usually caused by hormonal changes and on it's own isn't a symptom commonly associated with breast cancer.

    If your next depo injection is over due then this can cause a hormonal imbalance and one of the symptoms can be breast pain and tenderness. In a situation like this it isn't unusual for a doctor ( when someone is also young) is to leave it a week or 2 to see if the symptoms settle down before referring on. If of course the symptoms persist or get worse they will reassess and refer to a breast clinic as necessary.

    I hope you get to see another doctor soon and that you can get some peace of mind about this.

    Thanks so much for your reply means a lot. So ive got a bump as the doctor said on my right breast ive only had that depo jag once it ran out xmas time so would my body be expecting it again after only one dosage? 

    I've made it worse by goggling others stories and its loads of woman saying they were dismissed my bump isn't near my arm its more the edge in between my breasts if that makes sense?
