My CT scan i had for a hernia shows I have a lymph node on my kidney . I have an appointment to go to hospital for a biopsy in 4wks. Just worried how likely it is that I have cancer
I can appreciate that you are wanting to know more.
Unfortunately, there aren't really any gathered statistics on this, so we can't be very specific in our reply. A lot of the time, enlarged lymph nodes do turn out to be not related to cancer, but often the only way to know for sure, is to have a sample of cells collected, through having a biopsy of the lymph node. Try to keep an open mind about it if you can, and others have said, it helps to keep busy and occupied whilst you wait for the biopsy appointment.
