Hi I have been in hospital urology department and they found tumour in my bladder and  being explained there is a chance of cancer. I am very  worried. Besides   I have pains chest and back..  is this a sign that  I have advanced bladder cancer

  • Hello Boto1964, and thank you for posting

I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through. Waiting for tests and results can feel incredibly stressful and overwhelming, and many people in this situation describe feeling like they have no control.

Chest and back pain do not necessarily mean the cancer has spread or that it is related to bladder cancer. Unfortunately, until the results are back, no one can say for certain what is happening. I know this uncertainty is very hard, and it’s natural to fear the worst.

If you can, try to take things one step at a time, although I appreciate that’s easier said than done. Some people find it helpful to keep busy with daily routines, such as work or meeting friends, as a way to manage anxiety during this waiting period.

I hope you have friends or family you can lean on for support. You’re also welcome to speak with one of our nurses on the helpline if you’d like to talk things through. We’re available Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, on 0808 800 4040 (freephone).

    Best wishes,

    Jemma
