  • Hello Ma80 and thanks for your post,

All patients investigated for cancer are discussed at an MDT. At this meeting all the doctors who have been involved in getting your results together such as the radiologist and pathologist and surgeon meet to discuss your case. They are probably waiting for you to have the MRI before your case is discussed at this formal meeting.

The MDT usually only meet once a week and because of the holiday period this maybe delayed for a few days.

It is important that the doctors have all your results so they get the full picture and know how best to treat you. It is good to hear that your cancer has been diagnosed as low grade but the doctors need to make sure that all the investigations are done so they have a full picture.

Try and keep an open mind. If you haven't heard in the next week you could try and phone the oncology nurse that you have previously spoken to or the the gynaecology secretary to find out when you will hope to know more.

You may find it helpful to read our information about Decisions about treatment on our website.

Try and keep yourself busy and your mind on other things until you know more.

You are welcome to ring and discuss any of this with one of the helpline nurses.

The number to ring is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    All the best,

    Catherine
