Had a breast infection, took antibiotics and a new sore red headed spot appeared

Hi there, 

Very anxious woman here. 

I was at the GP 8 weeks ago and was told I had an infection under my breast and was given antibiotics.

Thought everything was fine afterwrds but in the last few weeks a new red painful spot had appeared on my breast.  I'm so worried about it and the pain seems to be worse at night. 

Any advice please - should I go back to the doctor? Hate feeling like I'm wasting people's time.

    I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you have been getting.

    It is completely understandable that you are feeling anxious, and you are not wasting anyone's time by seeking medical advice for a new or worsening symptom.

    A red, painful spot under the breast that comes back after treatment could be an infection that didn’t fully clear with the first course of treatment, but only your GP can assess you and send you for further tests if necessary.

    Please go back to your GP for an evaulation.  It’s always better to be safe.
