Newly diagnosed bladder tumours

Hallo

i have just found out I have two bladder tumours which will be removed next week, just before Christmas. How is the recovery

? I live alone with pets so not sure what arrangements I need to make, how long off work and when to be on my own. I will go to stay with family for a cou0le of days post surgery

    I am sorry to read that you require surgery to remove two bladder tumours.

    I appreciate that this must be a difficult time for you and can understand you wanting to know more so that you can make plans for your recovery.

    Unfortunately everyone’s recovery is different. Some can make a speedy, uneventful recovery whilst others may have some complications which can slow the recovery.

    Most people can be on their own once they can walk, eat, and use the toilet comfortably.

    You may need to ask someone to help with pets for the first few days.

    Time off work is usually 2–4 weeks, longer if your job is physical.

     Your hospital specialist will be able to give you more advice on what you can do after your operation.
