  • Hello and thanks for posting

I'm sorry to read about your situation and appreciate that this must be a difficult time for you, and it's understandable to want some clarity and reassurance about travelling.

A letter stating your diagnosis and upcoming surgery may not be enough for the travel insurance company on its own. Many insurers request a doctor to confirm you are fit to travel and that your condition is stable.

Travel insurance companies seem to assess people on a very individual basis, and exclusion clauses can vary between companies. The best thing to do is to contact your insurer directly, explain your situation, and ask them to confirm exactly what will and won't be covered on your policy.

I hope you are able to get away on your cruise. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
