Breast lump

Hi all,

I am just back from my GP after finding a lump in my left breast. It almost feels like a squashed marble and is firm and doctor says non movable. I have experience some tingling up to my collarbone and shoulder blade (although I’m not sure this is related) I am 37. I have been told to come for bloods to check lymph node levels and referred to breast clinic. Lump is tender when touched but doctor struggled to find it unless pointed out. I feel run down however I think the anxiety since finding the lump isn’t helping with that.
just looking for a little reassurance x

  • Hello and thanks for posting

I’m sorry you are worried about a breast lump and some other symptoms and can appreciate how stressful this can be.

Unfortunately there is no way of knowing what the cause of your breast lump is without going to the breast clinic for further tests.

Breast lumps have many causes and the majority of people seen in a breast clinic won't be found to have cancer so try if you can not to over think things too much until you know more, although I know this is easier said than done.

Breast Cancer Now has information on what to expect when you’ve been referred to the breast clinic.

I hope everything turns out to be okay. Give us a ring if you would like to talk things over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
