C L

Hi, I was diagnosed with CLL on the 24th Dec 2024, I was looked at and checked over due to lack of breath and night sweats. I now suffer from my joints and bones aching, so much so I cannot grip a cup and other items without lots of discomfort. The night sweats are every night, and can't sleep. I usually fall asleep around 4 am waking frequently after that. Can you tell me if these are normal things I'm going through and is there any help I can receive to help the discomfort. Many thanks Mark13.

  • Hello Mark 13 and thanks for posting

The symptoms you are experiencing can occur with CLL. But to have pain so severe that you are finding it difficult to grip a cup should be reported to your haematology team or GP. They can assess you and decide whether you need to have any further tests. They can also prescribe some pain relief to manage the pain. If you have a specialist haematology nurse (CNS) involved in your care then perhaps they can provide you with further information. You often have to call and leave them a message and they will get back to you.

In the meantime, we have tips on managing sweating and difficulty with sleeping on our website that you may find useful.

I hope this helps. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
