Blood Cancer PV

Hi,

I have been diagnosed with having PV and have been having 400ml blood taken every week (now every 2 weeks). This has been given to reduce HCT I think this is Hematocrit which I think is the percentage of red blood cells in the body.

My target is 0.45 which currently I'm hovering around that. 

However when I look at other tests within my bi-weekly tests I see that the trend for red blood cell count and white blood cell count is going up WBC currently 15.56 and Red blood cell count 6.33

This scares me because the trend is still upward & I don't know if this is going to seriously effect me. When I spoke to the consultant she said she is weekly monitoring & that is it.

Can you please advise what I should do.

    It sounds like you may be would benefit from a further discussion with your specialist, as they are familiar with your situation, and can explain more, and place it in a current context for you.
