Hi there and thanks for getting in touch
I am sorry to hear about your situation and appreciate what a difficult and worrying time this must be for you.
I hope you have the support of some close family and friends around you at this time.
It is also important that you also reach out for some professional support as well to help you through. The hospital you are being treated may well have a Macmillan cancer support centre or Maggies centre that offers both support for patients and their loved one's and provide services such as counselling and other talking therapies.
Whilst your doctor may be unable to cure the cancer they will be giving you the best possible treatment they can to treat and control the cancer. The team involved in your care will be wanting to give you the best possible outcome and it may be helpful to focus on this for now.
It is normal to experience a range of emotions at the moment and it is important to feel free to express these. However if you can also find ways to process what you are going through and look after yourself physically and emotionally this will help.
The website has a section of information about coping with cancer that may also be useful to read, if you haven't already.
We are here so do get back anytime and if you wish to speak with one of the nurses do call. We're here weekdays 9-5 on 0808 800 4040.
Take care of yourself
Naomi

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis and that you are due to start treatment soon.
Every one deals with a diagnosis of cancer differently and there is no right or wrong way for this. I hope your treatment goes well but remember to ask for support or help if you need it along the way.
I hope you also have friends and family to support you and wish you all the best.
Remember we're here if you have any questions and if you ever would like to talk over the phone then give us a call on 0808 800 4040. We're here weekdays 9-5.
