Yes you can get help with travel if you have low income. You need to take proof of this plus your appointments letter and your tickets to the cashiers office in Outpatients. Your wife may not be eligible though.

There is information about help with health costs on our web pages. As you will read it is possible for some patients to receive a refund for transport through the healthcare travel costs scheme for eligible patients. Do take a look at whether you would meet the requirements.

Failing this, it is also worth asking the hospital whether there is hospital transport available for your appointments, although this would likely to be only available to you and not your wife to attend with you.

I am not on benifits but I do have free travel pass except I have to catch the train during peak time.
