I am so scared that I have bowel cancer that has spread. I’ve had symptoms mainly of acid reflux, gurgling stomach and pain in ribs for over 4 years. Have never seen blood in stools. Last December I had 2 negative FIT tests and also a clear MRI with contrast. Pelvis ultrasound clear and CEA marker and blood were fine. Still suffer on and off with abdomen discomfort and bloating on and off. I sent off for a private FIT test and this has come back with a level of 36 and Calprotectin is 216. I have this pain all the time now under right rib so very scared this has spread. My bloods in June showed just on the lower end of folate and iron but nothing was flagged and marked normal. GP now has asked me to do a repeat NHS FIT test tomorrow and repeat bloods. I’ve had the rectal examination which was clear. I just can’t function without crying and looking at my lovely children who need their Mom so desperately to be here for them.
