Hi Trinor and thank you for your post.
I’m really sorry to hear what’s been happening. It sounds like you’ve had a lot to deal with, and that must be really hard.
It’s not easy to say how long these problems will last, because everyone’s recovery is different. Some people feel better in a few months, but for others it can take longer.
We have a webpage on bladder problems after treatment for prostate cancer which may explain more.
Because you have COPD and have had heart surgery, it’s a good idea to speak to your GP or hospital doctor. They can check what’s going on and help you feel more comfortable.
Pain when you pass urine could mean you have an infection, and you might need antibiotics to treat it.
You might find it helpful to read more on our website about ways to help with loss of appetite and Prostate Cancer UK also has a page about bowel problems after treatment, bowel problems after treatment which could be useful too.
If you’d like to talk to someone, you can call one of our nurses on the helpline. It’s free to call on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
I hope your symptoms start improving soon.
Kind regards
Tina
