Is Mineral water ok to drink whilst on Chemo and Immunotherapy?

Hi there.

I am wandering is it ok to drink mineral water during treatment. My mum needs to up her hydration levels and I am wanting to buy her a case or two of water, but unsure of the best type to give her. Struggling to find info anywhere on the net of what is and isn't ok to drink. Bottled water would save her having to go up and down the stairs to get more water.

Any advice appreciated :)

  • Hello sunny

Keeping well hydrated is really important for good health. Older people me included often do not drink enough. It does not matter what you drink. Tea coffee water beer. Im on immunotherapy too I drink lots of supermarket own brand sparkling water. Large bottles for the kitchen and small bottles for bedside table.

  • Hi SunnyWoodpecker and thank you for your post.

How lovely for your mum to have a caring and thoughtful sibling like you.

Yes, mineral water is generally safe to drink during treatment, and it can be a helpful way to stay well-hydrated. It’s always a good idea to check with her doctor, just to be sure, as some treatments require specific types of hydration or have restrictions on certain minerals.

Bottled water, including mineral water, can be a convenient and comfortable option—especially if your mum finds it difficult to go up and down the stairs frequently. Keeping hydrated is important, and this is a simple way to support her well-being.

I hope this information is helpful.
