Hello Angela, and thank you for posting,
I think you are asking about progesterone for ovarian cancer. If I have got this wrong, please let us know.
I was unsure of your situation and if this is something you are going through.
From the information I have found, at the moment, progesterone-based treatments for ovarian cancer are still being researched and aren’t widely used as standard treatment. Some women with certain types of ovarian cancer, especially those whose tumours have high levels of progesterone receptors, may be offered hormonal therapy, including progesterone or other related drugs, often as part of a clinical trial or in cases where other treatments haven’t worked well.
There have been some early studies showing that progesterone might help slow down tumour growth or improve outcomes in specific situations, but results have been mixed and more research is needed. Because of this, it’s not easy to find lots of personal stories. Hormone therapy for ovarian cancer is briefly discussed on the 'if your ovarian cancer comes back' page on our website
You may also find it helpful to post on the 'living with cancer' pages, where more people may see your post. It may also be worth posting on the Overcome community forum, which is specifically for people affected by ovarian cancer
I hope you do get to hear back from others. Do get back to us if you have any further questions. You can speak with one of our nurses on the helpline, we are available between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and the freephone number to call is 0808 800 4040
