Hi,
I am looking for advice. I have just recently been informed I have a tumour on the right side of adrenal gland. What does this mean? Would it have shown up on the CT scan it was cancerous?

Hello and thanks for posting
The adrenal glands sit just above your kidneys, and they make hormones that control things like blood pressure, response to stress and metabolism.
When a tumour is found on the adrenal gland it means that there is a growth or lump there but it doesn't necessarily mean cancer. Many adrenal tumours are benign ( not cancerous) and are often found by chance when you have a scan for something else.
A CT scan can show what the lump looks like and can give information about whether it seems harmless or suspicious but it can't confirm for sure if it's cancerous. Further tests such as hormone blood and urine tests, and sometimes an MRI or a PET scan may be needed.
Your specialist will go through your results and will explain what needs to happen next.
