I can appreciate your concern at having a suggested procedure done.
As nurses, we can't give you a medical opinion, as only a doctor can do that. We can offer a broad comment on this.
The risks of complications from having a cystoscopy overall, are low, as it is a fairly quick, straightforward investigation to have. It would be useful to know what is going on, as the doctor can see inside to view the actual condition of the bladder lining, and any areas of bleeding or inflammation. Sometimes, if there are tiny growths, they can treat them at the same time as having the cystoscopy.
Maybe talk this over with your GP, who may be able to advise you further.
