I am sorry to hear about your situation and the pain that you have. This must be a difficult time for you.

Back pain can be a symptom of liver cancer, especially if the tumour is pressing on nerves or other organs. However if this is worsening or has come on suddenly it is best to get checked out by the doctor, just to be on the safe side.

Back pain is also a common ailment as we get older but if the pain is unbearable the doctor may suggest an x-ray or scan to be sure.

If the pain killers you have aren't helping the doctor can also prescribe you the most appropriate pain medication to try and better control this. If you have a Macmillan nurse they are also there to advise about pain and other symptom management.

Speak with your doctor as soon as you can so they can take a look at you as to what is going on.
