Gynae oncology appointment following Colposcopy

Hi

i have had low grade HPV for serveral years and its not cleared. Been having yearly Colposcopy’s at the hospital, last one in July this year. I got the smear results to say that it showed borderline nuclear abnormalities and high risk HPV not detected and discharged from Colposcopy clinic.

Today I received a letter, stating I’ve been booked in to see a gynaecology consultant in Gyen ONCOLOGY. In 2 weeks time. No other information or results or anything. I can’t seem to get anyone to give me any information.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does this mean there was a mistake or they found cancerous cells?

Thank you

  • Hi there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about your situation, this is understandably a confusing time for you and I hope you know more soon.

Unfortunately as no one here is involved in your care it is impossible to know why you have this appointment, especially after being discharged from colposcopy.

It really is only the hospital clinic that have sent this invite who may be able to give you some more information.

Do try and contact the hospital again ( if you have previously) failing that I would try and sit tight and try not to over think things until you have spoken with the doctor.

Wishing you all the best and do get back in touch if you want to.

    Take care

    Naomi
