  • Hi Elaine1234,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Where have you been reading your information about this from? We usually advise people not to consult "Dr Google" in the early days. This is because a lot of the information is poorly researched, out of date and aimed at the more spectacular cases - this usually, only serves to scare us further!

Try to place your faith in your care team. They work with cancers day-in-day-out and they wouldn't tell you that it was treatable, if they didn't feel it was. You will find that most cancer doctors are very forthright and tell things as they are. If you have any concerns, write them down and take this list to your next appointment. You are entitled to know everything there is to know about your type of cancer before you start to consider any treatment options.

Have you had your CT results yet? I sincerely hope that there is no spread.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • No not had the results yet had the CT scan yesterday, just so drained and don't think I can do this.I'm so scared what if its spread I'm feeling every twinge, think I'll get my results Thursday really dont feel strong enough, trying to stay positive but as the day goes on begin to crumble.

    Thank you for your reply

  • Hi Elaine,

I'm glad to hear that you've already had your CT scan. You can do this and you will get through it and, once treatment is all over, you'll come out a stronger person. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news on Thursday.

Don't forget to let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hello Elaine 1234 and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear about your situation. It can be very stressful waiting for results and I can also understand that it can be unsettling waiting to hear what it means for you.

Every case is treated individually and it is not until they have got all your results back and you have had your surgery will they be able to get the full picture. There is so much research that is going in to treat breast conditions so do try not to over think it for now.

Your breast care nurse and the team of doctors are in a better position to tell what it means for you.

It is far better to get the information from your own team rather then searching on google which is so general.

Do give us a ring if you want to talk things through.

The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    All the best,

    Catherine
