Hi Trudie47 and thank you for your post,
I am sorry to learn that you have needed treatment for breast cancer.
The biab nail polish itself does not cause cancer itself but there is conflicting information around the use of UV lamps that are used to dry nails and the risk of skin cancer.
Our article on the Cancer Research UK website 13 myths about sun safety debunked mentions the use of UV lamps. Although these give out radiation, it is far less radiation than people are exposed to when they are outside in the sun or using a sunbed, so the overall risk to your health is low. However, if you are concerned, some people may consider applying SPF 50 to the hands before exposure or you could also use fingerless gloves.
I hope this helps in some ways. Please feel free to get back to us, if you would like to speak with one of the nurses on the helpline, we are available between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday, and the freephone number to call is 0808 800 4040

Thank you Jemma that is helpful, my concern is more about having this treatment even though I have had my lymph nodes removed from this side, which was 3 years ago.
