Hi my dad has had his nose removed due to cancer is this a rare cancer ?
Hello and thanks for posting
I'm sorry to read about your dad. This must be a difficult time for you both.
Cancers that start in the nose or nasal cavity are quite rare, and doctors usually see far fewer cases of them compared to other more common types of cancer such as breast, lung or bowel cancer.
Surgery is the main treatment for your dad's cancer as this is the best way to try and get rid of the cancer. After surgery, some people may need radiotherapy or other treatments to help reduce the risk of the cancer coming back. But your dad's specialist team will advise him if any further treatment is needed.
I hope this helps. Give us a ring if you would like to talk things over. The number to ring is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
Kind regards,
Celene
