Barretts Oesophagus

Hi, I have just had an endoscopy today.  I have been toled in the Procedure Comments, that there is 'Severe oesophagitis on Background of Barrett's.  SCJ is irregular at about 30cm with TGF at 35 and short hiatus hernia.  Ulceration at 33cm with friability -BS 4 for urgent histology. '  I am not sure what any of this means, and feel concerned, as when I asked I was told that I would need to ask the doctor in my referral.  I was also prescribed double my normal dose of omeprazole, from 40mg a day to 80mg a day for 4 weeks.  And it appears that I will be 'rescoped' in 6-8 weeks.

For the background to this, I was vomiting blood that looked like coffee grounds and was admitted to hospital in June as a result of this.  I was kept in for 3 nights, but did not have an endoscopy, and was informed that I would not be having one, despite having been given a diagnosis of Barretts approximately 10 years ago.

Does this mean that there has been a significant change?  If so, has the hospital been negligent in not giving me an endoscopy when I was admited for the vomiting.

I appreciate your response.
