  • Hi there and thanks for posting

I am sorry for the delay in getting back to you and hope that the appointment your husband had on friday went well.

It isn't unusual for patients embarking on cancer treatments to be worried or to have some doubts about going ahead with treatment.

It is always important that patients are fully informed about their treatment plan and what it aims to achieve so that the patient can make the right decision for them. Patients need to be made aware of both the risks and the benefits of treatment to help guide them in any decision making.

If after all the information has been given the patient still decided to not have treatment this decision needs to be respected. The team involved in the patients care may give an idea of what the short or long term may look like.

Sometimes a patient just needs more time to think about what to do and this is okay as well. So if this is the case do ask the team if this is possible.

I hope you are okay but if you wish to talk this or anything else through do get in touch. We're here weekdays 9-5 on 0808 800 4040.

    All the best

    Naomi
