I'm currently having radiation treatment after my breast cancer surgery, I am on day three of five treatments. During the treatment can I swim in my parents pool?
Swimming is not usually recommended during and shortly after radiotherapy as it can cause skin changes and irritation. These changes can be further irritated by pool chemicals.
Even though your radiotherapy treatment is only for five days skin reactions can develop over the course of the treatment and continue afterwards.
The safest thing to do is to check with your radiotherapy team team or breast nurse specialist. as they can see your skins condition and advise you further.
