Hello and thanks for your post,
I am sorry to hear about your situation. I can understand how difficult it can be when you are first diagnosed getting your head around it all. Some patients find that once they know more about their next steps it is easier to come to terms with it all.
We have tips on ideas to help about managing your emotions. You might find some relaxation techniques may help such as massage or reflexology.
You may find the hospital where you are being treated has a Maggie Centre. They offer different classes including exercise classes and they have clinical psychologists which you may find helpful. They also run on line classes which are available for patients as well.
We do have a page on help with sleeping which you might find helpful to look at.
It may also be a good idea to try and get yourself as physically active as possible before any treatment starts as this will help with any treatment that you are given. Hopefully by increasing your exercise and eating a healthy diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables may help with sleep.
I do hope that you find what works for you. Try and share how you are feeling with friends and family as it is important that you feel properly supported.
You are welcome to ring and chat any of this through with one of the helpline nurses.
The number to ring is freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
All the best,
Catherine
