  • Hello and thanks for posting

I'm sorry to read about this situation, and can understand this is a very challenging and difficult time for you.

To get the all clear from lung cancer, then recently losing your mum to a brain tumour, and now your wife and two friends have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer is devastating and must feel so overwhelming. I think many people going through this can feel on the edge of what they are able to cope with. Some find hidden strength that they never knew they had, but many need to lean on other people and get some help.

I would advise you to get some help for yourself, maybe speak to family or trusted friends, and talk to your GP about how low you are feeling just now. Sharing and talking over your feelings can help to cope with them and the GP can tell you what sort of support is available for you to access.

Your specialist team or nurse specialist could let you know what support is available at the hospital and locally in your area. You also might find that your hospital has a Macmillan Drop in or a well-being centre where you can get support.

Maggie's centres provides a variety of support for people affected by cancer. The cancer care map also lists local support services.

I hope this is of some help. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
