I was seen last month following an urgent referral. I had cervical examination and uterine biopsy done. Vulval examination was not done on that day as I also had a transvaginal scan. Everything looked normal. Had cauterization on cervix due to small bleed. Vulva was very tender and was told she would have a proper look in 4 weeks. Got called in for colposcopy. Heavy bleeding but no periods for years due to implant. Very quick internal and external examination told all fine it's lichen sclerosis and I would need steroid cream and gave me print out of LS. Letter to GP did not mentioned LS or steroid cream and said see me back in January. Letter re biopsy said low chance of cancer. GP rang couple weeks ago to check in and biopsy had shown uterine thickening. Had a call from GP today to say the hospital have asked them to do another urgent 2 week referral, the scan showed thickened uterine and GP said they may want to do another biopsy. I'm really thrown by this as on one had being told all OK and then the other not so much. What happened to my full vulval examination after 4 weeks? If the hospital have asked for me to be referred again is there a higher chance that it is cancer? I deliberately didn't celebrate the all clear because something was just not sitting right with me. My additional needs children need me and now I'm freaking out!
