Endometrium adenocarcinoma

I am 61yrs young! 12 months ago I was diagnosed with having very early stage endometrium adeonocarcinoma, I underwent a hysteroscopy, resection and had a mirena coil fitted, and my uterus was measuring approx.8.7mm.

I have 3 monthly biopsies, the first biopsy advised a histology report demonstrating a good response with the coil, although still complex atypical changes, the effect noted is predominantly progesterone effect.

I recently underwent the 2nd biopsy the histology report came back advising it is showing hormone effect but also still some cancer cells.

My oncologist sent me for another transvaginal exam and it showed my uterus lining was now approx.8mm

I am obese and currently on a weightloss pathway, to eventually have a hysterectomy.

I would like some clarification on what I am being told and what have others had done in this position.

Many thanks

  • Hi there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about your situation and imagine this is a worrying time for you.

It sounds like your specialist team are monitoring you at regular intervals to check for further changes, which is good. They have the plan to operate once you have lost some weight where it is safe for them to carry out the hysterectomy, which is often the best way forward for things like this.

Do ask the team any questions or talk through any concerns you have with them so they understand how this is affecting you.

Others may pop on here to share their stories but remember everyone is different and it can be difficult to compare situations.

Please come back to us if you want to, or you are welcome to call the nurse helpline on 0808 800 4040, if you prefer. We're here weekdays 9-5.

    All the best

    Naomi
