I have had two PSA tests in the last few weeks. In both my PSA was raised at around 14 nano grams per litre. I am very worried. What is the likelihood this is prostrate cancer?
I am sorry to learn that you are concerned about your PSA levels.
While an elevated PSAis concerning it's important to remember that many men with elevated PSA levels do not have prostate cancer. PSA levels can also be elevated for benign reasons such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostatitis.
Sometimes activities such as exercise prior to the test can cause it to be raised.
Your GP may discuss referring you to a specialist for further tests, such as an MRI scan.
