Hi
I was diagnosed with stage 1 endometerial cancer, September 2024. Due to my raised BMI and an umbilical hernia, surgery was not offered at that time. I have been losing weight. I had a Mirena coil put in August 2024 when I had the polyp removed thats when they discovered cancer cells. I had a biopsy June 2025, result all hormone seen, no cancer cells.. As I had had some bleeding was put on 200m.g. Provera since 3.6.25. I am also a well controlled type 2 diabetic latest HbA1c was 48 in June and previous one was 48 in December 2024. Was taking one 1000mg Metformin with main meal. My blood sugars have been very low under 5 and in consultation with my Diabetes Nurse have now reduced Metformin to 500mg. with main meal. I have lost about 8kg over 9 months. Do you think the Provera could be lowering my blood sugars? I am sure I have read somewhere that diabetes can be caused by endometerial cancer? When the gynae doctor told me they had found cancer he wrote on a piece of paper Diabetic???. My blood sugar reading this morning was 4.6 after only having a 500m.g. Metformin yesterday (new medication regime). My gynae consultant said I could have surgery at the moment but I felt I wanted to lose a bit more weight she agreed and she is going to review me again in October 2025.
