Breast screening

Hi!
I’ve just noticed on my breast screening result using the NHS App  that it states - Significance Significant - My result was normal, obviously I’m now wondering what this means? It is also listed as a ‘condition’ on my medical records, but I’ve never had any issues with breast screening? Can anyone help? I’ve tried to call the clinic but ‘unable to take my call’ ‍♀️

Thank you

  • HI Rey67,

We cannot tell you what the results mean; this is something you will need to discuss with a doctor.

If there was any concern with the results, you would expect to be recalled to the clinic. If you cannot reach the clinic, it is worth trying to speak with your GP, as they will also have access to the results.

I am sorry we cannot be more helpful on this occasion, and I hope you can get some answers soon.

    Take care,

    Jemma

  • I’ve spoken to the clinic, they have stated my results from a few months ago are clear, but I don’t understand the term Significance Significant? Why are those terms used on the NHS app when the clinic have also stated they are unable to put anything on the app, and a few other ladies have phoned to ask the very same? I suppose we all have to hope we haven’t received incorrect letters
