DCIS Mammoplasty & Mastopexy

Hi

i had surgery 5 days ago. I had a Mammoplasty on right breast to remove  the DCIS (wide incision) and a mastopexy on left breast to help match both sides. I changed dressing yesterday. Is it normal for dried blood having accumulated below nipple? Lots of bruising. Everything seems very raw. Hard to look at and I do not want to wipe or touch to check all seems ok.

    I am sorry to hear about your recent surgery and can understand you having questions.

    It is normal to see some dried blood and bruising after the type of operation you have had. This is very normal and the swelling and bruising should settle in the next week or 2.

    If however you are worried or notice anything else out of the ordinary do get it checked out by the breast care team.
