  • Hello Midgeyblue

I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis and the situation you find yourself in regarding treatment options. Undoubtedly, this is a very difficult time for you and it is natural that you want to try and connect with others who have experience with the treatment that you are able to undergo.

I'm sorry that you've found the Cancer Chat forum difficult to use. We do have a forum help section that has some handy guides for using the forum but if there's anything in particular the moderation team can help with, then do reach out to us and we will do our best to help and guide you.

I've had a look through the forum posts using the search function and unfortunately, I can't find any other posts where T-VEChas been recently mentioned. We do have some information about T-VEC on our website which you may find helpful. I'm going to tag in one of our regular members who has been living with melanoma for a number of years  . Angie may be able to help you get in touch with others who have experience with this treatment or who have been diagnosed with late-stage melanoma.

As you've posted in our Ask the Nurses topic area they will also post a reply to you but if you would prefer to talk with them you can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

I do hope that you can make contact with others who have experience of this diagnosis and treatment Midgeyblue.

    Sending my best wishes,
    Jenn

  • Hello and thank you for your post,

I am sorry to learn of your situation and that you have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer as well as having melanoma. This must be a difficult time for you.

I'm not sure if you have any specific questions you'd like to ask, but as Jenn mentioned, you're welcome to call us and discuss things with one of our nurses.

You may already be aware of Melanoma Focus, an organisation specifically set up to inform and support people with melanoma. They also have information about T -VEC that you may find useful.

I hope this helps in some way. Please feel free to get back to us if you do have any questions.

    Jemma

  • Hi Midgeyblue,

I'm sorry to hear about your situation and that you would like to talk to others who are having T-Vec. This treatment isn't widely used so not many patients have experience of it, but I do know one patient who had the treatment last year. I've sent you a friend request - you can find it in the notification icon (a bell) in the top right hand of this page. Click on the bell & then on the notification. It will give you the option to accept the friend request. Once you've done this I can send you a private message and share details of how to speak to this patient. I have to do it this way as I won't share a third person's details on the open forum. I hope this helps,

Angie (Stage 3 melanoma patient since 2009)
