Has any one experienced this along with nivolumab for brain mets?
Hello there and thanks for posting
I am sorry to hear about your situation.
It will only be your own specialist team who can say whether steotactic radiotherapy would be useful and possible for you in your situation.
There are guidelines set out as to the criteria needed to receive a particular treatment so do talk this through with your own doctor. You can read more about this on the stereotactic radiotherapy for brain tumours pages on our website.
It is possible for some patients to have Nivolumab alongside steotactic radiotherapy for brain mets if deemed appropriate.
I hope this is helpful and you are able to discuss this with your consultant soon.
Best wishes
Naomi
Thank you. The team will discuss MRI scan this week and my oncologist will then present a plan for the best treatment. It is a time of 'not knowing' at the moment. Unfortunately treatment with nivolumab and ipilimumab simultaneously in January caused serious side effects (kidney related) which meant 10 days in hospital. I hope to avoid a repeat of this, obviously, yet want to fight the cancer.
