Internal ultrasound following post menopausal bleed

Hi,

I am 50 yrs old, my period stopped 18 months ago however recently had a bleed that lasted 5 days and felt like a period.
I’ve also been urinating frequently, bloated, mild back pain, mild stomach pain and constipated.
The doctor was thorough and I’ve had bloods test, urine, stool samples taken, swab done and had an internal ultra sound Tuesday evening.
other results were Normal other then a water infection and thrush.
My NHS app is showing today that my ultra sound results are abnormal. I have a pre booked appointment in on Monday to see the doctor to discuss all my results however the NHs app is making me nervous. The test results show the below, should I be worried? I have a whole weekend to get through and it’s only Friday and I’m stressing myself out:

The A/V uterus measures 52x41x58mm and has heterogenous

texture.

It contains multiple firboids.

Largest measures 20mm at left lateral wall.

Limited views of the endometrium due to uterus heterogenous

texture, where seen it has thickness of 3.7mm.

Both ovaries appears normal.

No obvious adnexa mass or cysts identified .

No fluid in POD.

Few cystic areas noted in cervix.largest measures 15x10mm

with internal echoes.No vascularity seen-?possible

haemorrhage in nabothian cyst.

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

Our nurse service is from monday to friday so unfortunately we don't respond to posts over the weekend.

I can appreciate your concern, but as nurses, we are not able to interpret clinical reports, or provide second medical opinions on reports. Your GP will be able to explain the findings and place it all in context for you later today.

I hope the appointment goes well for you,

    Best wishes,

    Vanda
