Hi
My brother is 37 and was diagnosed with a pituitary macro-adenoma 3 years ago (non functioning)
He never attended follow up MRIs due to severe claustrophobia and anxiety. Last week he paid for a private open MRI scan and the results showed that his adenoma has gone but his pituitary gland has hyperintense lesions. No other brain abnormalities thankfully. He is waiting for his neuro consultant to get back to him, we don't know how long this will take.
Current symptoms - severe left sided headache, numbness on that side of his face and neck, dizziness and feeling a loss of balance.
Question is are hyperintense lesions serious and could they cause his symptoms?
Thank you so much x
