HRT and Skin Cancer

After a close family member were diagnosed with skin cancer I realized that I too have some suspicious spots all over my face and a couple on my legs which will require investigation. Most of them seem to share characteristics with Basal Cell Carcinomas but there is one on my leg which could either be an age spot or melanoma (this one is fairly recent). I've had most of these for a while and never thought much of them as they were not painful - I now know than skin cancer is often not painful, especially in the early stages.

I have been on HRT for about 6 months and the literature I've been able to find is unclear as to if HRT could contribute to skin cancer or could be harmful to take if you already have skin cancer.

At this point I am still undiagnosed but have made an appointment with my GP to start the process. I need HRT to function at work an in everyday life (I am also the main earner in my family) - are there any general guidance for someone like me re HRT use and suspected skin cancer?
