We can't give specific advice, as we are not clinically based. Each NHS Trust will have it's own patient information advice sheet.

On looking at several of them, including this one from University Hospitals Sussex they say to remove the bandage after 48 hours. Do follow any guidance given to you from the hospital nurse. Hospital surgical nurses tend to be more up to date with current wound care protocols than some surgeons. Obviously if you notice any bleeding, swelling, oozing, or areas hot and sore, then do report this promptly to your hospital clinical care team.
