Hi there and thanks for posting
I am sorry to hear you have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and are awaiting results.
Times like these are never easy and it is only natural to be worried. The uncertainty of cancer can be unsettling and it is normal for the mind to go into over drive.
I hope you have some friends and family to support you through this time. Planning your days to keep yourself and your mind occupied with other things can help pass the time.
Make sure you are looking after yourself by eating a balanced healthy diet and getting some fresh air with some light exercise.
Getting into a good routine at night to help promote sleep by having a relaxing bath, listening to chilled out music and reducing blue light before bed can all help. Some people find keeping a pad of paper and pen beside the bed to write down any thoughts that preoccupy your mind during the night.
Every mind matters has some tips to aid sleep, so do take a look at these.
Some people use breathing techniques or mindfulness to calm their thoughts and mind and body. It really is finding what works for you to try and manage your thoughts and feelings to get through this time.
If you continue to struggle with this then do speak with your GP or your breast care team to ensure you get the support and help you need with this.
Feel free to get back in touch or if you prefer give us a call on 0808 800 4040, weekdays 9-5.
All the best
Naomi
