please advise on what I CAN take to help

  • Hello and thank you for your post,

I am sorry to hear that you have been waiting so long to hear back from your GP and that you are experiencing pain, along with cramps and spasms.

As cancer information nurses not involved in your care, we cannot say what is causing the pain or recommend medications or supplements.

It might be worth having a chat with your specialist breast care nurse (CNS) as they know your situation and may be able to advise you. You could also speak with your local pharmacist about what they would recommend.

Breast Cancer Now has helpful tips for joint and muscle pain on their website and some information on healthy eating after breast cancer treatment which includes a bit about supplements which I hope will be useful.

I hope this helps in some way, please come back to us if you need any information or support. If you would like to speak with one of our nurses on the helpline we are available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm .

  • Thankyou for your reply Jemma,

Ive actually spoken to a McMillan nurse this morning and she has advised me to take multivitamins rather than any supplements due to the an Anastrozole that I am taking for the next 10 years.

she is also making me an appointment to go and have a proper chat with one of the nurses at the hospital.
