  • Hello Plumster and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear about your husband's situation. I can understand how unsettling it can be waiting for results.

It is difficult without being involved in your husband's care to be able to comment very much.

MRI's are very detailed and the doctors will look at this very closely in order to see whether he needs a biopsy. We have some useful information on our website about tests for prostate cancer and how they work out whether they need to take a biopsy.

I know that having had a cancer diagnosis yourself must make you anxious about your husband's situation but remember that all cancers are very different.

Unfortunately until the doctors have got all your husbands tests together they will not be able to tell you much more.

Try and keep yourself busy and your mind on other things until you know more.

You are welcome to ring and chat this through with one of the helpline nurses. The number to ring is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm

    All the best,

    Catherine
