  • Hello and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. It is difficult for us to give an opinion without being involved in your care.

One of the side effects of Rituximab can be feelings of nausea. Everyone reacts to drugs in different ways and it maybe that the doctors need to adjust your anti sickness medication. You also don't mention the other drugs that you had on the 5th of May.

It is important to let the chemotherapy helpline or your specialist nurse know that symptoms are continuing.

We have some general information with coping with sickness

We also have some other suggestions about controlling sickness. Some complementary therapies such as drinking hot water with ginger can help. Eating small frequent meals and trying to drink as much water as you can.

I can understand that it can be a lonely time when your symptoms don't seem to be getting any better.

It can sometimes take a little while for the doctors to get the right drugs to manage your symptoms but it is important that you let them know about your situation.

You have posted in 'ask the nurses' but if you post on another thread you may find that you get more responses.

If your hospital is connected to a Maggie Centre you may find this a helpful place to go and meet others. They also have clinical psychologists who you can talk to. If you are not near a Maggie's then they do online classes and support.

If you would like to talk any of this through with one of the helpline nurses then you are welcome to get back to us or give us a ring.

Our number is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    All the best,

    Catherine
