Lung adenocarcinoma with spinal metastasis"

Good morning, all

Unfortunately, just now we received the news my dad has Lung adenocarcinoma with spinal metastasis" last stage.

We are still expecting to know what's the best treatment for him, we were mentioned that hydrogen breathing machine is good support for him, however I am not familiar with the whole situation and I am seeking for an advise in this challenging situation

Best Wishes

  • Hello and thank you for posting,

I am sorry to read about your dad's situation, this must be very difficult for you and your family.

Only your dad's hospital team can say what the treatment plan will be as they know his situation. Treatment depends on many things such as the stage (the size of the cancer and how far it has spread), how fit a person is generally, and whether or not they have other health conditions.

Hydrogen Breathing Machine is not used as a standard treatment, and the information is limited with more research needed. Again this is something perhaps to discuss with your dads team as they may know more about it.

It might also be helpful to ask if your dad can be referred to the specialist palliative care team as they are experts in managing the symptoms of cancer and can be a good support for family as well.

Please feel free to come back to us. If you would like to speak with one of our nurses on the helpline we are available between 9 am and 5pm Monday to Friday and the freephone number is 0808 800 4040.

    Take care,

    Jemma
