Low white blood cells

I had blood tests recently, and my neutrophil count came back as borderline low, 1.53. What could be the causes for this? I had triple negative breast cancer 4 years ago, so I’m always worried about cancer returning. Wouldn’t the neutrophils be high if my body was fighting cancer? Thank you.

    I can appreciate your concern but we are not able to comment on your blood test results. It says it is a borderline result, and therefore probably not classed as clinically significant.

    Neutrophils can go up and down in response to various things, including recent viral or other infections.

    Do call your GP if you are worried and they can talk this through with you.
