I had a coil fitted 2 years ago and it’s caused no problems and I haven’t had a period until now. I had terrible tummy pains followed by sickness. Head ache etc. I never had heavy periods before. I’m 49 years old. Is this normal

I am sorry to hear about the bleeding and symptoms you are experiencing.
There could be a number of different reasons for this but to be on the safe side I would suggest you speak with your doctor so they can assess you.
If needed they can arrange some tests for you.
Most of the time symptoms have a far less serious cause than a cancer. I do hope this settles for you soon and you can get some peace of mind.
